Inclusive Renovation: How OSS can tackle Energy Poverty

Date March 24-25, 2026
Time 09:00 - 18:00 CEST

About the Event

Don’t miss the last EU Peers Learning Lab on Energy Poverty!

Did you know that 34 million Europeans struggle to keep their homes warm in winter or cool in summer? With 75% of the EU’s buildings still energy inefficient, the demand for accessible, effective renovation support has never been more urgent. One-stop shops (OSS) are at the heart of this transformation—bridging the gap between vulnerable households and life-changing energy solutions.

Join the EU Peers Learning Lab, designed exclusively for OSS practitioners, to explore actionable strategies for identifying, engaging, and supporting energy-poor households. From innovative outreach to tailored financing and personalised renovation roadmaps, this is your opportunity to learn, share, and replicate success.

Session 1: Understanding Energy Poverty & the OSS Opportunity

📅 24 March, 10:00–12:00 (CET)

Discover the latest insights and tools to address energy poverty in your community:

  • Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH): Kristina Eisfeld will unpack the dimensions of energy poverty, the EU policy landscape (EPBD, EED), and practical EPAH tools to drive local action.
  • Barcelona City Council: Maria José Ruiz will showcase the Energy Advisory Points, a peer-to-peer worker model for identifying and supporting vulnerable households. Learn how it was set up, scaled, and the key lessons for your OSS.

Session 2: Solution Approaches & Roadmaps for Vulnerable Households

📅 25 March, 10:00–12:00 (CET)

Explore real-world solutions to deliver impact:

  • Elektrėnai Municipality (LT): Laura Rudzianskaite will share how their OSS submits subsidy applications for entire apartment buildings, leveraging state-guaranteed loans and collaboration with social services to maximise reach and impact.
