The third edition of the Festival of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) will take place in Brussels, Belgium, from 9 to 13 June 2026, offering activities ranging from a festival, forum, and fair, to satellite events across Europe. Organised by the European Commission, the Festival will explore how design, culture, and sustainability can come together to improve our daily lives.
What to Expect
This year’s programme will spotlight the power of citizen engagement in creating inclusive and sustainable communities. Affordable housing will be spotlighted as a key part of democratic participation, demonstrating how empowered citizens and local authorities can positively impact their environment. The Festival will align with NEB’s principles, allowing participants to reimagine their built environments with the principle of life first, then spaces, then buildings.
The Festival offers multiple ways to experience:
- Forum – A meeting ground for exchange, debate, and reflection on the NEB vision.
- Fair – An exhibition and testbed for breakthrough projects and prototypes aligned with sustainability, inclusivity, and good design.
- Fest – A cultural celebration blending art, performance, and creativity, offering a space for joy and discussions of new ideas.
- Satellite Events – Independent activities in Brussels and beyond that carry the Festival’s spirit across Europe.
Be part of the 2026 Edition
Everyone passionate about sustainability can contribute to the Festival! Whether you’re a project leader, artist, designer, organiser, or engaged citizen, you are welcome to bring your passion for reimagining Europe’s future to the Festival. Three pathways to get involved in the festival are available:
- Showcase a project at the Fair (apply by 15 October 2025)
- Bring an artistic or cultural contribution to the Fest (apply by 15 October 2025)
- Host a Satellite Event in your city or region (apply by 31 December 2025)
About the NEB Festival
Since its launch in 2022, the NEB Festival has served as a milestone for tracking the initiative’s achievements. By linking the European Green Deal and the Clean Industrial Deal with tangible improvements in buildings, lifestyles, and communities, the Festival demonstrates how sustainability can also mean accessibility, affordability, and cultural richness.
