Amidst the picturesque landscapes of northwest Ireland, the Sligo-Leitrim Energy Agency sought guidance from ManagEnergy Expert Lisa Vaughan, CEO of the Tipperary Energy Agency, to bolster their energy efficiency efforts. Through a pragmatic approach, Vaughan’s mission unfolded in two phases, each aimed at tangible outcomes for the agency’s growth.

In the initial phase, stakeholders were engaged in discussions elucidating the role of energy agencies and addressing financing challenges and skills gaps. These conversations laid the groundwork for collaborative problem-solving and informed decision-making.

The subsequent phase saw a deeper dive into operational intricacies, including a visit to the pioneering SuperHomes One-Stop-Shop. Here, practical insights on business models, risk management, and national support systems were shared, enriching the agency’s toolkit for future endeavors. SuperHomes, initially launched as a pilot project for 20 homes by the Tipperary Energy Agency in 2015, has evolved into a major venture aiming to deliver 35,000 deep home energy upgrades by 2030, in partnership with Electric Ireland. This success story serves as inspiration for the Sligo-Leitrim Energy Agency.
