The World Sustainable Energy Days, the largest gathering for stakeholders working on energy transition will take place online and in-person in Wels Austria.
Boosting economic recovery with the energy transition! This is the focus of the next World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED)from 21-25 June 2021 in Wels/Austria.
We are holding this “special edition” of our annual conference as a hybrid event: You can participate online from anywhere in the world. According to current planning, on-site participation will also be possible (following COVID rules in place at the time of the event). Registered participants will receive detailed guidance prior to the conference. On-site conference days in Wels/Austria will be 22 – 24 June.
Europe is aiming for a 55 % reduction of CO2 emissions by 2030 as a milestone on its way to climate neutrality by 2050. It is crucial that the investment decisions made in the next few years put us on the path of being “fit for 55” by the end of this decade. The WSED show how we can make a green recovery happen in practice and how renewable energy and energy efficiency can contribute as an investment engine. The current economic challenges and the related investment programmes present a unique opportunity to accelerate decarbonisation and to create a fairer society and a more competitive economy. We present policies, technologies, markets and more.
Europe has the ambitious goal of becoming the first climate neutral continent by 2050. The Green Deal and the EU Climate Law are first concrete steps. The current economic challenges are also an opportunity to accelerate decarbonisation and to create a fairer society and a more competitive economy.
In 2021, the conference – which attracts over 600 participants from over 60 countries each year – shows how we can make a green recovery happen in practice and how the energy transition can contribute as an investment engine to this deep transformation. This year, the conference will be held both online and in-person.
