The session “Fast-tracking biomethane: tackling permitting time at the local level”, part of the EUSEW 2025 Policy Conference, will focus on streamlining local permitting procedures for biomethane and biogas projects.
Panellists from European institutions, industry, and local actors will discuss bottlenecks and solutions to accelerate permitting processes — a key factor in scaling up biomethane deployment across Europe.
South East Energy Agency, which currently holds the FEDARENE Vice-Presidency for Circular Economy through John Carley, will present its experience in facilitating biomethane project development with local authorities and stakeholders. The intervention will be delivered by the agency’s CEO, Paddy Phelan.
