Turn your sustainability ambitions into actionable, long-term strategies

LEARNING OPPORTUNITY | Planning the Energy and Climate Transition

How can you lead your city toward a just, climate-resilient future?

SPARKLE’s new free online training course, Planning the Energy and Climate Transition for Cities, is designed to help you do just that. This three-course learning journey equips urban planners, civil servants, and technical staff with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration to connect energy transition, climate resilience, and circular economy objectives through practical and strategic planning.

You’ll gain access to proven frameworks, such as IN-PLAN, and data-driven tools like the European City Calculator. With real-world case studies and interactive exercises, you’ll learn to build actionable roadmaps, strengthen cross-departmental collaboration, and improve existing climate strategies.

Earn certificates as you complete each course, and by finishing at least two of your choice, you can apply for a scholarship to attend one of SPARKLE’s in-person summer schools, taking place in five European cities from March to June 2026.

What you’ll learn

  • Develop integrated plans that align climate, energy, and circular economy goals with local priorities.
  • Strengthen spatial planning to future-proof your territory against climate risks and energy challenges.
  • Turn local data into action, using it to set targets, support decisions, and build credible strategies.
