In 2016, RAEE (now AURA-EE) published the first French guideline on creating biomethane refuelling stations on farms. The guideline provides details on regulation, authorization and implementation, security aspects, financing, dimensioning and technology as well as suppliers available in FRANCE.
Most farmers are thinking about building a biomethane refuelling station as part of their biogas plant. This guide highlights the feasibility and shows a possible strategy for farmers who want to become suppliers of CNG for citizens and local authorities.
The guideline is available at the national level. The first farmer’s refuelling station in France is scheduled to start operation in September 2017.
