At the Emergency County Hospital “Dr. Constantin Opriș” in Baia Mare, a photovoltaic park with 2,000 panels was installed during the month of December 2023, within the project “Installation of photovoltaic panels to ensure the own consumption of electricity at the level of the emergency county hospital, implemented by Maramureș County Council through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program, with a total budget of 7.95 million lei (approx. 1.59 million euros).
Within the photovoltaic park, built in the courtyard of the County Emergency Hospital “Dr. Constantin Opriș” Baia Mare, approximately 900 kilowatt-hours will be produced, which will provide over 70% of the electricity consumed at the largest hospital unit in Maramureș county, which will reduce its energy costs thus ensuring a sustainable development for the hospital.
With the help of European funds, Maramureș County Council, the county-level authority that coordinates the Emergency County Hospital “Dr. Constantin Opriș” from Baia Mare developed and modernized this hospital, transforming it into an elite medical unit in the North West region of Romania.
