Serge NOCODIE is the former President of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Énergie Environnement (AURA-EE), the energy agency of the French Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Throughout his career, he has been deeply committed to supporting municipalities and regional authorities in their energy and climate transitions. A strong advocate for the local implementation of public policy, Serge has a particular passion for how climate mitigation and adaptation measures can be translated into meaningful action on the ground. From 1995 to 2014, he served as Municipal Councillor for Urban Regulation in the City of Grenoble. Since the early 2000s, he has also led two local energy utility companies, where he has driven the development of renewable energy solutions, with a special focus on biomass. Since 2008, he has served as Vice-President of AMORCE, the French national association uniting local authorities, associations, and enterprises in the fields of waste management, energy, and district heating networks, with responsibilities covering district heating, wind, and biomass.
Etienne VIÉNOT is Head of EU and International Affairs at AURA-EE. He leads the agency’s European and international activities, identifying strategic topics for future projects, sourcing relevant EU funding programmes and calls, and coordinating project proposals with his team. Etienne actively represents AURA-EE at major European events and within key EU networks, while also maintaining close collaboration with the international relations department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region. Since the launch of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) in 2016, he has been closely involved in its development. Since 2019, he has co-led EUSALP’s Action Group on Energy alongside the Alto Adige Energy Agency (CASACLIMA). European cooperation has been central to Etienne’s work since he joined AURA-EE, and he continues to promote transnational collaboration to advance the energy transition at regional and cross-border levels.
