Workshop

Promoting Sustainable Energy – Data quality to support local action

This workshop, organized thanks to the DATA4ACTION project and the Covenant of Mayors, aims to provide a framework of useful tools and case studies, focusing especially on local energy data issues.

The 19 November 2015 from 00:00 to 00:00 Brussels time Turin, Piemont Italy

The Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) represents the key document of the Covenant of Mayors initiative, launched by the European Commission in 2009 in order to promote the 20-20-20 European targets among the municipalities. The more than 6500 municipalities that joined the CoM until now, through SEAPs identify a set of measures aimed at reducing the CO2 emissions and final energy consumptions of their territory.

The monitoring and reporting phase is essential in order to ensure a continuous improvement of the process, also because the SEAPs is a dynamic tool that can be changed, enriched and adapted to the objectives and the needs of the municipality involved. A key aspect of this monitoring phase is the access to local and accurate energy data in order to better identify trends and priority sectors and measures of SEAPs.

This workshop, organized thanks to the DATA4ACTION project and the Covenant of Mayors, aims to provide a framework of useful tools and case studies, focusing especially on local energy data issues, to all the stakeholders involved in the SEAPs implementation and monitoring process such as municipalities, technical experts, politicians and energy agencies.
