Join the workshop “Solar cities: beyond and above rooftops” to learn more about how urban areas can be the next opportunity for solar PV projects to take off!
Cities, local authorities and energy agencies are at the forefront of the energy transition. With three-quarters of the European population living in urban areas, the bulk of energy consumption is happening on cities’ territory. The population of cities is constantly growing, and together with it, the demand for sustainable electricity, transport, heating and cooling. The proximity that cities have with local citizens make them the perfect candidates to foster large renewable energy deployment.
But there are also some challenges to deploying renewable energy, for solar PV in particular. Urban areas combine large electricity consumption with limited space, which makes access to eligible surfaces quite complex.
This workshop will present concrete solutions that local stakeholders and solar developers can replicate to facilitate the deployment of solar PV at the local level. Join us to learn more about how urban areas can be the next opportunity for solar PV projects to take off!
The workshop will take place in the SQUARE Convention center in Mont des Arts (Bruxelles) at 14:30.
