Working Group

FEDARENE’s Energy Communities Working Group brings together regions and energy agencies to accelerate the creation, growth, and replication of energy communities — empowering citizens and territories to play a leading role in Europe’s energy transition.

Objectives

Facilitate Knowledge and Best Practice Exchange

Support the development of energy communities across Europe by sharing experiences, tools, and successful approaches from FEDARENE members and EU projects.

Empower Citizens and Territories

Promote citizen engagement and prosumer models that strengthen local ownership of the energy transition while boosting renewable energy deployment.

Shape Policy and Regulation

Use the collective expertise of FEDARENE members to inform national and EU frameworks governing energy communities, ensuring they are enabling and inclusive.

Advance Innovation and Inclusion

Explore the social, technical, and financial dimensions of energy communities — tackling energy poverty, fostering cooperation, and developing concepts such as “energy community one-stop shops.”
