Roadmap for Energy Communities and Collective Self-Consumption in Andalusia

The Andalusian Regional Government, through the Andalusian Energy Agency, has released a new roadmap outlining a comprehensive strategy to scale up collective self-consumption and energy communities across the region.

Aligned with EU climate neutrality objectives, the roadmap sets out a clear framework to support the transition towards a more decentralised, distributed and participatory energy system. It highlights the growing role of citizens, local authorities and businesses as active players in the energy market, moving beyond traditional consumption models.

The document builds on strong regional progress, with a rapid increase in self-consumption installations and the emergence of numerous energy community initiatives. It aims to further accelerate this momentum by promoting public-private collaboration, strengthening local value chains and facilitating access to financing and technical support.

The roadmap also identifies key actions, including capacity building, dissemination activities, pilot projects, and the development of support tools and advisory services for municipalities and stakeholders. Particular attention is given to vulnerable groups, ensuring broader access to affordable and sustainable energy solutions.

By setting clear objectives and measures, the roadmap provides a strategic foundation to scale up renewable energy deployment, enhance energy efficiency, and support local economic development in Andalusia.
