Takeaways

  • Adaptation pathways are alternative sequences of actions that identify the conditions or tipping points that require new measures, allowing for flexible and long-term climate planning with opportunities for stakeholder input and engagement.
  • Citizens are key to implementing climate action and should be encouraged to engage in local climate planning.
  • Although local budgets are often limited, the need for climate action is urgent and innovative or cross-cutting strategies are needed to optimise the use of adaptation funding.
  • Using the TransformAr Tool, regions can self-assess the replicability of their adaptation measures. The solutions already implemented and reflected on through this tool include nature-based solutions, technology, and behavioural changes.
