Every year, €2.3 billion are invested in the energy transition, with 30% to energy efficiency measures in the industrial sector. Still, not all companies have made the shift. This is what OÖ Energiesparverband wants to change with its new initiative, Industrial Energy Transition Leaders. It is a cooperation between 15 companies that are pioneers in this transition of the industrial sector. Together they employ 25,000 people, generate 7 billion euros in annual turnover and 63% energy supply. This initiative aims to develop concrete approaches in terms of carbon neutrality and to lead these companies to Industry 5.0 as the OÖ Energiesparverband calls it, i.e. an industry with decarbonised energy. This initiative intends to make these companies leaders in the energy transition, competitive and innovative. It creates an ecosystem of organisations that continuously makes efforts through investments or organisational measures for energy transition by continuously seeking innovation. In addition to this, these leaders give particular attention to the well-being of their employees but also try to make them evolve towards the same path of sustainability.
OÖ Energiesparverband has just published a brochure presenting the activities of the initiative and the achievements of its member organisations.
