Between May 2020 and September 2022, the European City Facility conducted four calls for application funded by Horizon 2020, resulting in the selection of 215 beneficiaries from 25 countries. This marked a crucial first step in catalysing local investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy across Europe. Of the selected beneficiaries, 202 successfully submitted Investment Concepts.

These Investment Concepts represent each city’s comprehensive plan for implementing their projects, detailing various funding and financing sources such as private investment, EU funding streams, European Investment Bank programmes, crowdfunding, Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), and more.

This EUCF Impact Report compiles the overall potential values provided by the beneficiaries, covering energy savings, renewable energy production, investment, and emission reductions. It presents the data in total and and country, while also highlighting particularly successful examples of the individual local beneficiaries.
