Celebrating Our Network’s Impact on Energy and Climate: Sustainable Regions in Action 2025 

As the new European Commission rolls out key initiatives like the Clean Industrial Deal and the Affordable Energy Action Plan, attention turns to those who will put these ambitions into motion. 

Local and regional actors – with the support of over 300 energy agencies across Europe – are already doing just that. 

Reducing Europe’s dependency on imported fossil fuels is essential to stabilise energy prices, strengthen competitiveness, and build long-term resilience. This requires urgent investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency – solutions that these local actors are already  deploying. 

This is the focus of Sustainable Regions in Action, our latest publication showcasing success stories from regions, municipalities, and their energy agencies. The featured initiatives demonstrate how these leaders are translating EU strategies into results – from large-scale renovations to energy communities including, industrial decarbonisation, climate adaptation, and much more.
