Droughts are no longer limited to southern Europe — they now affect nearly all EU regions. Agriculture, water supply, energy, ecosystems, and infrastructure are increasingly exposed to long-term water stress.
To support local and regional authorities, REGILIENCE and partner projects have launched a quick guide on drought resilience. It includes practical tools, policy context, risk maps, and over 20 recommended actions.
Authorities will learn how to:
✅ Assess drought risks with EU tools like the Drought Observatory and Risk Atlas
✅ Strengthen water retention, recycling, and monitoring at local level
✅ Apply real-world solutions from Spain, Portugal, Austria and beyond
✅ Engage stakeholders and access relevant funding
The guide also includes a self-assessment tool to avoid maladaptation and ensure sustainability.
📘 The publication is multilingual and ready to support action across Europe.
