Webinar: Water Resilience for Electricity Production: Risks and Solutions
About the Event
Join MIP4Adapt for a webinar on water resilience for electricity production on 8 October!
An upcoming webinar hosted by the Mission Implementation Platform (MIP4Adapt) will focus on water resilience for electricity production. By attending the event, regional and local energy agencies, as well as public and private electricity producers, will receive insights on topical subjects from sectoral experts. Register now to attend the webinar on 8 October from 10:00 to 11:30 CET.
The event will feature presentations from experts on topics such as water stress hotspots and water conservation in electricity production, followed by a Q&A session and a panel discussion.
Why Attend?
Escalating climate change risks like rising temperatures and an increase in droughts are threatening water supplies needed for cooling in electricity generation. Compounded by a forecasted increase in electricity demand, water resilience is an issue that requires proactive planning.
The session will present information about recent data, key findings from new reports, and ways to strengthen water resilience in the energy sector. A relevant topic of the webinar will be the EU Water Resilience Strategy, which focuses on the principle of efficiency first.
Agenda
The webinar will include the following items, subject to change:
- Welcome and opening remarks – Erlend Hansen (MIP4Adapt)
- Framing water resilience and the role of electricity production – Nihat Zal (EEA)
- Water stress hotspots – Marija Miletic (JRC)
- Promising water-saving measures in electricity production – Esmée Mes (Deltares)
