As part of the Green Deal, the Commission launches a European Climate Pact to give citizens and stakeholders from all parts of society a voice and role in designing new climate actions, sharing information, launching grassroots activities and showcasing solutions that others can follow.
The European Climate Pact aims to inform, inspire and foster cooperation between people and organisations ranging from national, regional and local authorities to businesses, unions, civil society organisations, education organisations, consumer groups, research and innovation organisations, as well as individual citizens, including youth.
FEDARENE shared its views on how the European Climate Pact can support the European Union to achieve its Climate goals. It is essential that this Pact builds on already existing initiatives such as the Covenant of Mayors and ManagEnergy, and strengthen the bottom-up dialogue with local communities and citizens.
