Passive house pilot project is the most innovative project to date in Calarasi district. It allowed the construction of a kindergarten building based on the passive house concept.
The building walls were insulated. It also has high-quality windows that prevent heat losses, geothermal heat pumps and solar photovoltaic panels for water heating. The maintenance costs are small in comparison to ordinary buildings and will not exceed the 15 kw/h of energy per square meter per year.
The capacity of this kindergarten is 100 children. The project was successfully completed in spring 2017. The total cost of this project was €1 million.
