Global and European Covenant of Mayors initiative will take part in numerous events both in the Presidential Programme and in EU Side Events, from 1 to 11 November.

1 November

  • 16.00 – 17.00 Harnessing collective initiatives to achieve Europe’s 2050 climate neutrality goal – Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy – Europe; Global Covenant of Mayors; Climate Alliance; ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability – Europe: This session will explore how local leaders leverage collective and bottom-up initiatives to reach climate neutrality. Panelists will represent European Cities. The panel will be moderated by the Covenant of Mayors – Europe
  • 17.30 – 18.30 Racing to 1.5°: cities mainstreaming evidence-based climate & energy policies in Europe & Mediterranean – Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy – Europe and Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy; EU funded project Clima-Med, Acting for Climate in South Mediterranean; EU-funded ‘ENI CBC MED’ Programme Managing Authority hosted by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia in Italy; Municipality of Segrate: This session will explore how local governments in Europe and the Mediterranean are accelerating climate action, implementing science-based measures to secure a resilient, climate neutral future for their communities. Global Covenant of Mayors cities and Regions will reflect on climate and energy plans and showcase how ambition turned into action.
