Policy Meets Innovation – Unlocking rapid decarbonisation in apartment blocks
About the Event
Renovating multi-apartment buildings presents considerable legal, logistical and social challenges. This webinar will present new market solutions that can significantly reduce renovation time and disruption for tenants.
Getting an apartment block to agree on a renovation is rarely an easy process. Rules on collective decision-making are different in every country, permits can hold projects up for months, and neighbours may disagree. Owners and tenants tend to have different priorities, and the views of younger and older residents can be far apart. Even a modest upgrade can become a tangle of politics, logistics and social tensions. Things get even harder when the works mean relocating every family, replacing the distribution pipes and fitting low-temperature underfloor heating. Such an operation can take several weeks, with no certainty about when it will be finished.
Now imagine the same transformation taking only a few days, while residents barely notice and daily routines carry on undisturbed. That is the promise of market innovation.
This webinar will showcase two technologies designed to renovate centralised heating in apartment blocks, with no major renovation works and in a far shorter timeframe, keeping disruption for tenants to a minimum. Speakers will begin with one-for-one substitutions using high temperature heat pumps, before moving on to cascade water loop solutions.
