On May 9 2021, the Presidents of the European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission have launched the Conference on the Future of Europe, with the objective to open a new space for debate with citizens to address Europe’s challenges and priorities.
The Covenant of Mayors – Europe recently stepped up its ambition, in line with the European Climate Pact in achieving EU-wide participation in reaching climate neutrality by 2050. The Covenant Community as a source of innovative multi-level governance, involving Member States, Regions, Provinces and local authorities, and a driver of the green transition has something to offer to the Conference on the future of Europe.
