The Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum 2021

The Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum is back for a new edition. The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, Directorate-General for Climate Action and the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises are the organiser of this year’s edition.

When? 15 and 16 of June

Every year, the Investment Forum brings together local and regional authorities, industry, and financial institutions to exchange good practices and successful solutions to the common challenge of climate change and the green transition. Last year saw 600 participants coming together to share and learn from the experience of 44 front-runner projects and initiative.

Based on the last edition’s success, plenary sessions will be held with high-level representatives from the Covenant of Mayors, the investment community, and the European Commission. Once again, this edition aims to inspire cities and regions to replicate, improve and support their local involvement in achieving a green transition. Also, it brings together stakeholders and investors who share a common goal of investing in a cleaner and sustainable future.

Since 2008, the Covenant of Mayors has established itself as a network of local authorities committed to more significant environmental and climate actions. Today, the initiative gathers 9,000 local and regional authorities from 57 countries to take advantage of this dedicated network to improve its capacity to pursue climate change mitigation and adaptation.
