Join us on 29 April 2025 for an insightful webinar on the development of renewable energy communities in Europe!

Renewable energy communities are citizen-led initiatives that generate electricity from local renewable sources. In recent years, local and regional public authorities have increasingly taken on the role of enablers, supporting and fostering these initiatives. These communities play a crucial role in the energy transition, allowing citizens to own and benefit from energy infrastructure while strengthening local economies.
This webinar aims to provide an overview of energy communities in both continental Europe and small Mediterranean islands, showcasing examples at different stages of development—from established projects to early-stage initiatives. Practical case studies and key knowledge reports will offer valuable insights.
Additionally, the webinar will explore the national contexts of the LIFE projects Power-e-com and ISLET in Austria, Spain, Croatia, Italy, and Greece. Participants will also be introduced to the European Energy Communities Facility, a new initiative supporting energy communities across Europe by offering funding and capacity-building opportunities.
This webinar is organised as part of the LIFE projects Power-e-com and ISLET, co-funded by the European Union.
