Kvarner Regional Energy Agency
By supporting the development and implementation of projects related to energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, REA Kvarner is driving the energy transition in the Primorje Gorski Kotar region.
Regional Energy Agency Kvarner (REA Kvarner) was established in 2009 by the regional government, the County of Primorje Gorski Kotar, under the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe programme. The agency focuses on supporting the development and implementation of projects related to energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy sources (RES), thus driving the energy transition in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar region.
Activities
In line with its aims, REA Kvarner is involved in a wide range of activities, including:
- Local/regional energy planning (preparation of annual and multi-annual energy plans for the Primorje Gorski Kotar County, SECAPs/Joint SECAPs for municipalities, as well as other sectoral strategic and action plans);
- Development of different local/regional/EU projects to reduce energy consumption and maximise energy efficiency, with special emphasis on supporting the rural and island areas;
- Management, coordination and dissemination of EU projects;
- Promotion of good practices in RES, rational use of energy (RUE) and climate change mitigation;
