Europe is already experiencing more frequent and intense climate hazards, from heatwaves and floods to droughts, which makes it clear that adaptation can no longer be postponed. Energy and Climate Agencies, working closely with regional and local authorities, are helping turn adaptation goals into concrete context-based action. By considering nature-based solutions, awareness-raising, blended financing, and community engagement, among others, they work towards strengthening resilience while also helping to avoid maladaptation.
Climate Resilience in Action: Insights from Regions and Energy and Climate Agencies across Europe presents 13 experiences from FEDARENE members on how to address the impacts of climate change across different regional and local contexts and priorities. These examples reflect a diverse range of approaches, from local initiatives to more established regional strategies. Taken together, they highlight that climate action relies on collaboration, knowledge exchange, and sustained support and investment, emphasizing the importance of sharing and scaling effective solutions to achieve lasting impact while strengthening Europe’s competitiveness and security.
