European Mobility Week 2025: Making Mobility Work for Everyone

European Mobility Week 2025, taking place from 16 to 22 September, invites cities, regions, and local stakeholders to rethink how mobility systems serve all citizens. Under the theme “Mobility for Everyone,” the campaign aims to combat transport poverty and promote accessible, safe, affordable, and sustainable mobility for people of all ages, abilities, incomes and locations.

With over 3,000 cities participating annually, the campaign has become a cornerstone of sustainable transport policy and innovation in Europe. This year, it focuses on four pillars:

  • Design for all: Eliminate physical and digital barriers, ensure inclusive infrastructure, clear communication, and data protection;
  • Diversity, Affordability & Reliability: Encourage mixed mobility options, structural pricing reforms, and real-time information access;
  • Community Engagement: Embrace co-creation, inclusive planning, and partnerships with civil society to tackle transport inequalities;
  • Territorial Cooperation: Foster joint strategies across municipalities and rural areas for more integrated and resilient transport systems.

The week concludes with Car-Free Day on 22 September—an opportunity for municipalities to showcase their commitment to reducing car dependency.

Authorities, civil society and businesses can also register Mobility Actions throughout the year and apply for the prestigious EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK and MOBILITYACTION Awards, which celebrate local leadership in advancing clean and inclusive mobility.
