About the Event

At European Sustainable Energy Week 2026, this session highlights how FEDARENE members and initiatives are shaping the narratives that drive Europe’s energy transition, with contributions from OÖ Energiesparverband, the EEW5 and ManagEnergy projects.

On 10 June 2026, from 14:30 to 16:00, the session “What’s the Story? New Narratives for Energy Transition” will take place at the Charlemagne Building, De Gasperi room, Brussels, as part of European Sustainable Energy Week 2026.

As Europe advances its ambitions under the EU Green Deal and related climate and energy frameworks, the role of communication is evolving. Featuring our member OÖ Energiesparverband (ESV), the discussion will draw on insights from the Energy Efficiency Watch 5 (EEW5) project and the ManagEnergy initiative to show how communication helps turn EU policies into action on the ground.

Participants will hear from Christiane Egger (OÖ Energiesparverband) and Daniel Becker (Guidehouse), who will present findings from EEW5 and share practical insights from working with local and regional authorities. A high-level exchange with Nicolás González Casares, Member of the European Parliament, will bring a policy perspective to the discussion. The session will be moderated by Jan Geiss (EUFORES).

By connecting research, policy, and practice, this session will show that narratives are not just communication tools, but key enablers of Europe’s clean energy transition.
