Municipalities play a key role in driving the clean energy transition, but turning ambition into concrete and actionable plans requires the right tools, data and support.
On 27 May 2026, the Step-WISE and Plan4Cold projects are organising the event “Planning the Energy Transition: Tools and Strategy for Sustainable Municipalities”, taking place in Turin and online.
The event will present new tools, practices and case studies to help local and regional authorities draft successful local plans for a clean energy transition. Participants will discover the technical Step-WISE Toolkit, which supports local administrations and professionals in developing Clean Energy Transition Plans, and will learn from five case studies implemented in urban, rural and insular contexts across Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Mediterranean Islands and Italy.
The programme will also introduce recommendations and practical steps for the development of District Heating and Cooling local plans for buildings, drawing on the experience of the Plan4Cold project.
