The European Energy Efficiency Conference 2027 is now open for contributions, taking place from 3 to 5 March 2027 in Wels, Austria, as part of the World Sustainable Energy Days. Organised by OÖ Energiesparverband(ESV), the conference positions energy efficiency as the fastest, most cost-effective and lowest-risk path to keeping Europe’s energy supply affordable, secure and sustainable. It brings together businesses, public bodies, researchers, policymakers and other experts to exchange the latest thinking on how to meet Europe’s climate targets while reducing dependence on energy imports.

Topics open for submission

The call for papers and speakers invites contributions on:

  • energy transition, climate neutrality, energy security,
  • affordability
  • energy efficiency, renewable energy
  • solutions for buildings, industry, e-mobility
  • sustainable energy research, technologies, programmes,
  • markets and policies
  • products, services, business models,
  • Energy Communities

How to get involved

Interested researchers and practitioners can submit a full paper, or propose a speaker, through the conference’s online forms. All submissions must be received by 9 October 2026.

Part of a wider programme

The European Energy Efficiency Conference is part of the wider World Sustainable Energy Days 2027, one of Europe’s leading conferences on the energy transition and climate neutrality, drawing over 650 participants from more than 60 countries each year.

Alongside the Energy Efficiency Conference, the WSED programme includes conferences and workshops on pellets, energy policy, industry, e-mobility, One-Stop Shops and young researchers, among others.
