The Integrated Mobility Master Plan (IMMP) is a Turning Point for Transport Policy. The Government of Cyprus and the Local Authorities have the ambition to ameliorate the traffic situation, by increasing the share of Public Transport, Cycling and Walking and at the same time upgrading and completing the road network. The share of Public Transport Trips must be above 10% by the year 2020. In order to achieve these ambitious goals, a sustained effort must be made to implement a series of measures.

Financing scheme for efficiency on street lighting, Madeira and Santo Porto, Portugal

Street lighting represents 10% of electricity demand in Madeira and 7% in Porto Santo and has a high potential for action to improve energy efficiency. Street lighting is managed by municipalities, which are organised in an association of municipalities. They are interested in reducing street lighting costs but do not have the financing capacity, because of high debt and crisis restrictions. The solution was to involve regional and municipal actors to discuss the problem.
