Read the letter sent by the European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, to the Mayors of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy – Europe, in occasion of the launch of the new Covenant vision for 2050.

To celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Covenant of Mayors – Europe initiative and its new vision, the President von der Leyen addresses all mayors of the Covenant Community.
“The accomplishments of the Covenant of Mayors reflect your tireless endeavour in making our cities, towns and villages more sustainable and more liveable, and will be critical to our collective success. You are the ones driving change at the local level, all across Europe, translating European objectives and policies into local action, which directly benefits our citizens and inspires the rest of the world, now gathered in a Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.”
