REGILIENCE project aims to foster the adoption and wide dissemination of regional climate resilience pathways, following a demand-driven approach and bearing in mind the expertise and knowledge acquired, as well as the solutions available from Innovation Packages and other sources.

Focus regions

Implementing climate resilience in vulnerable regions

After conducting a need survey covering the 50 most vulnerable regions in the EU, the 7 following regions have confirmed their participation in the project. Three of them are FEDARENE members.

  • Madeira (Portugal) – FEDARENE member: Madeira Regional Agency for Energy and Environment (AREAM)
  • La Réunion (France) – FEDARENE member: Horizon Réunion
  • Yuzhen tsentralen (Bulgaria) – FEDARENE member: Plovdiv Energy Agency (EAP)
  • Comunitat Valenciana (Spain)
  • Murcia (Spain)
  • Istrian County Area (Croatia)
  • Central Macedonia (Greece)

These regions will be matched with Innovation Package projects and participate in different activities such as citizen surveys, the development, and testing of an indicator set for regional resilience but also capacity-building activities.

REGILIENCE at ECCA 2023: Advancing Climate Resilience through Tools and Approaches

ECCA 2023, the European Climate Change Adaptation conference, provided a platform for showcasing various tools and approaches aimed at bolstering climate resilience. Among the participating projects, REGILIENCE was featured in two sessions, highlighting the project's efforts to support European regions and communities in their adaptation efforts.

FEDARENE at REGILIENCE Meeting in Lisbon

REGILIENCE last Management Board meeting was held in Lisbon from the 9th to the 12th of May and FEDARENE was present to give updates on the work with regions and the capacity-building activities.

The European resilience landscape – a REGILIENCE open training session

The REGILIENCE team has held the first Open Training Session (OTS) of our series of capacity-building events for regional actors working on climate adaptation. This session focused on the EU resilience landscape and explored highly innovative EU initiatives and projects.
