Contribution to energy efficiency: Europe’s Best Energy Services wanted!

• The European Energy Service Award (EESA) honours innovative energy services in Europe
• The Award will be bestowed in three categories: Best Energy Service Promoter, Best Energy Service Provider, and Best Energy Service Project
• Berlin Energy Agency accepts applications until the 29th of June 2015

Berlin, 25th of March 2015 – The efficient use of energy is an important prerequisite for the success of the energy revolution and to achieve the climate protection targets in Europe. Companies that provide, promote and implement high-quality energy services are elementary to make energy efficiency a success story. To honour European frontrunners in the field of energy efficiency, the European Energy Service Initiative will bestow the “European Energy Service Award” (EESA) for the eighth time.

The Award will be bestowed in three categories:

• The category Best Energy Service Promoter distinguishes active market facilitators that successfully contributed to the wider use of energy services in Europe.
• Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) will be awarded in the Category Best Energy Service Provider, if they positively manage to influence the market by introducing new products and through their willingness to take risks in developing the market.
• Up to three outstanding projects will be awarded in the Best Energy Service Project category. The emphasis will be placed on environmentally friendly, innovative and custom-built projects.

Berlin Energy Agency, coordinator of the IEE project “European Energy Service Initiative 2020 (EESI 2020)”, accepts applications starting now. The application documents can be downloaded from the webpage of the European Energy Service Initiative www.eesi2020.eu.

A jury of international experts will select the award winners. The prizes will be awarded to the winners in a high-level awarding ceremony in Brussels in October 2015.
