BUILD UP

BUILD UP is the European portal for Energy Efficiency in Buildings, funded under the Intelligent Energy Europe programme that is managed by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME). BUILD UP intends to reap the benefits of Europe’s collective intelligence on energy reduction in buildings, and it targets professionals working in the building sector (public or private) with an interest on the latest developments related to energy efficiency at technical or practice level, policy legislation, financial issues, etc.

Coalition for Energy Savings

The Coalition for Energy Savings strives to make energy efficiency and savings the first consideration of energy policies and the driving force towards a secure, sustainable and competitive European Union. Its membership unites businesses, professionals, local authorities, energy communities, and civil society organisations in pursuit of this goal.

Coalition members represent:

  • more than 500 associations, 200 companies and 1,500 cooperatives
  • 15 million supporters and more than 1 million citizens as members of cooperatives
  • 2,500 cities and towns in 30 countries in Europe

Construction21

Construction21 is a collaborative platform at the service of all construction and sustainable living professionnals. Construction21 was developed by the French Institute for Performance in Buildings (IFPEB) and its European partners with the purpose of sharing and spreading news related to sustainable construction. In March 2012, it opened six national platforms in France, Germany, Italy, Romania, Lithuania and Spain, with the support of European Union. They are each managed by a national organisation and linked together via a central international platform which highlights content of continental and international importance and relevance. Since 2013, Construction21 is beginning to become the first collaborative tool specifically dedicated to sustainable construction in the EU28. An international non-profit Association, Construction21 AISBL, was created in April 2013 in Brussels.

Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy

FEDARENE is also one of the founding partners of the Covenant of Mayors initiative, which launched in 2008 and celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2018. The Covenant of Mayors Office is currently managed by a consortium of networks of local and regional authorities, led by Energy Cities and Climate Alliance, and composed of  CEMR, Eurocities, Fedarene, and ICLEI Europe. The Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy is now the world’s largest movement for local climate and energy actions, bringing together over 7,700 signatory local authorities, as well as supporting originations  who strive to fast- track local climate and energy action and go beyond the EU’s 40% greenhouse gas-reduction target by 2030.

ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems

ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems is a joint programming platform of European countries with the goal to initiate and finance transnational research, demonstration and innovation projects in the field of Smart Energy Systems and Networks. It is born by a network of owners and managers of national and regional public funding programs in the field of research, technical development and demonstration. Since 2014 the network has been growing up to 30 funding partners from 25 countries. It has established the collaboration hub of national and regional programs in the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) Key Action 4, “Increasing the resilience and security of the energy system”. The joint programming platform intends to foster innovation initiatives, developing technology and business solutions that effectively support the transition towards a resource efficient and low carbon society.

EU Climate Pact

The European Climate Pact encourages everyone to act. It is a movement of people united around a common cause, each taking steps in their own worlds to build a more sustainable Europe for us all. Launched by the European Commission, the Pact is part of the European Green Deal and is helping the EU to meet its goal to be the first climate-neutral continent in the world by 2050. 

In 2024, FEDARENE was selected as one of the 31 Climate Pact Partner.

EUFORES

EUFORES is a European cross-party network of Members of Parliament from the European Parliament as well as from the EU27 national and regional Parliaments. EUFORES core objective is the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

EUFORES is supported by a variety of non-parliamentary members from the renewable energy and energy efficiency community – industry, scientific institutes, energy agencies and NGOs – all strongly committed to renewable energy and energy efficiency. FEDARENE is a member of EUFORES.

EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW)

FEDARENE is an official partner of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), a high-level Policy Conference bringing together policymakers, stakeholders, and citizens to find secure, clean and efficient energy solutions to tackle tomorrow’s challenges. Launched in 2006 by the European Commission, the EUSEW is organised by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) in close cooperation with Directorate-General for Energy. The Policy Conference is Europe’s largest networking event purely dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency.

EuroACE

EuroACE represents Europe’s leading companies involved with the manufacture, distribution and installation of energy saving goods and services for buildings. EuroACE members employ around 286,000 people in these activities in Europe and have around 1,200 production facilities and offices. EuroACE’s mission is to work with the EU institutions to help Europe move towards a more efficient use of energy in buildings, thereby contributing to Europe’s energy and climate commitments.

Greening the Islands

Greening the Islands supports self sufficiency and sustainability of islands worldwide, testing solutions that can be replicated everywhere. They match needs and solutions enabling cooperation between local authorities, business, citizens and academia.

International Passive House Association

iPHA is a global network of Passive House stakeholders including architects, planners, scientists, suppliers, manufacturers, policymakers, contractors, property developers and more! We work to promote the Passive House Standard and foster a greater public understanding of highly energy efficient buildings. Our membership network encourages the exchange of Passive House knowledge, providing members with a range of benefits and advocating for Passive House in policy, the media, and amongst the general public and entire range of construction professionals.

Global Women Network

The Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) aims to advance the global energy transition by empowering women in energy through interdisciplinary networking, advocacy, training, coaching and mentoring. GWNET seeks to address the current gender imbalances in the energy sector and to promote gender-sensitive action around the energy transition in all parts of the world. 

GWNET’s work focuses on:

  • Networking: facilitating connections among women working in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency to advance the energy transition, through events and the Women in Energy Expert Platform.
  • Advocacy: generating and disseminating information on the role of women in the energy transition as well as organising conferences, seminars, and workshops which foster discussions and promote gender-sensitive action around the energy transition.
  • Mentoring: leading the development of several regional and global women mentoring programmes as well as the matchmaking of mentors and mentees within the sustainable energy sector.

Renovate Europe

FEDARENE is a Supporting Partner of the Renovate Europe Campaign, a political communications campaign with the ambition to reduce the energy demand of the EU building stock by 80% by 2050 through legislation and ambitious renovation programmes. Launched in 2011, Renovate Europe is an initiative of EuroACE, the European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings, and enjoys the support of 45 partners from industry, civil society and 17 National partners active at national level.

REScoop.eu

REScoop is the European federation for renewable energy cooperatives. They are a growing network of 1,500 European REScoops and their 1,000,000 citizens who are active in the energy transition. Through REScoop.eu, they wish to make their voices heard in the European energy debate. Citizens after all are the ones who will be paying for the transition to a more sustainable energy system. REScoop.eu empowers them and wants to achieve energy democracy. The federation has four well-defined objectives:

  • Representing the voice of citizens and renewable energy cooperatives to European policy makers
  • Supporting the start-up of new REScoops and provide them with useful tools and contacts
  • Providing services for the European REScoops and are currently working on a financial tool
  • Promoting the REScoop business model throughout Europe

Urban Future global conference

The URBAN FUTURE global conference is Europe’s largest event for sustainable cities. World Sustainable Energy Days

FEDARENE is a long-time partner of the World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED), organised in Wels, Austria by OÖ Energiesparverband, the regional energy agency of Upper Austria. In 2021, the conference – which attracts over 600 participants from over 60 countries each year – shows how we can make a green recovery happen in practice and how the energy transition can contribute as an investment engine to this deep transformation.
