In response to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia and the energy security threats it brought to the EU, the European Commission proposes a REPowerEU plan to increase the resilience of the EU’s energy system.

The plan is built on 3 main pillars:

  1. Price regulation and mechanisms to mitigate retail prices;
  2. Ensuring sufficient gas storage and diversifying supplies;
  3. Reducing faster EU’s dependance on fossil fuels.
