Sustainable Regions in Action: 2025 Edition

Each year, FEDARENE publishes the “Sustainable Regions in Action” Brochure, showcasing the best practices in energy and climate from our estimated members. New to FEDARENE or didn’t contribute before? Explore the “Sustainable Regions in Action” 2024 edition!

For the 2025 edition, we are inviting our members to submit an article, showcasing a recent project, initiative, or tool that you are particularly proud of. This is an excellent opportunity to highlight your region’s innovative work in the energy and climate sectors.

This year’s themes include:*

• Sustainable Heating and Cooling
• Energy Communities
• Sustainable Businesses = Competitive Businesses
• Climate Resilience/Adaptation
• Just Transition in Practice
• Empowering the Youth
• Energy Sufficiency (reducing energy consumption through changes in behaviour, lifestyle, and collective organisation)
• Multilevel Governance
• Digitalisation and AI
• Energy Storage
• Integrated Investments in Energy & Climate 

*If your work does not fit precisely within these themes but is still relevant, feel free to propose an alternative topic—we are open to suggestions.

Why Participate?

Your contribution will help demonstrate the impactful work being done by local and regional authorities toward Europe’s Climate Neutrality goals. With over 2,000 readers, including EU representatives and stakeholders, the Brochure is an important resource we use to showcase the achievements of our members.
