Member Consultation Webinar on the Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act (IDAA)

FEDARENE Members are invited to take part in a consultation webinar to prepare a joint response to the European Commission’s Call for Evidence and Public Consultation on the Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act (IDAA).

📅 Date: 3 July 2025
🕒 Time: 10:00 – 12:00 CEST
📍 Location: You can join the webinar at this link

Below, you can find the PDF version of the questionnaire that we will explore and answer together during the webinar. We encourage you to have already a look at the questions and prepare your answers in advance – although it is not compulsory.

As announced in the Clean Industrial Deal, the European Commission is preparing the IDAA to support the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries while trying to maintain their competitiveness and boosting sustainable, resilient industrial production across the EU. The initiative will focus on key sectors such as chemicals, steel, pulp and paper, refineries, cement, non-ferrous metals, glass, and ceramics, with a value-chain approach that also considers downstream industries (where relevant).

The IDAA is expected to deliver concrete measures to:

  • Speed up permitting procedures for industrial decarbonisation;
  • Identify and promote priority industrial decarbonisation projects and clusters;
  • Create and protect lead markets for European low-carbon products

The EU’s consultation is open until 9 July 2025, and the IDAA is highly relevant to both your work and FEDARENE’s strategic priorities.

FEDARENE’s Member Consultation Webinar will take place on 3 July 2025 and will follow this format:

Webinar agenda:

  • 10:00 – 10:30 | Presentation of the IDAA context and objectives
  • 10:30 – 12:00 | Interactive discussion to review the consultation questionnaire and collect members’ input

This is a key opportunity to ensure our network speaks with a strong and coordinated voice.
