The Danish biogas sector was an unknown area for the Danish educational institutions. In order to draw attention to the challenges in education for the biogas industry, a number of different educational institutions were contacted individually by DFFB to identify opportunities for training for the biogas industry. It has subsequently resulted in the institutions meeting in a network and discussing options for making actions for biogas. It has also resulted in different courses being made for both teachers at the institutions (visiting several biogas plants and learning about biogas) and courses and programs for the biogas plants themselves.
The purpose of this network is:
The network has made it possible to offer 2 types of education that can be fitted to the biogas business. We now have a vocational and a diploma education. We have also raised the knowledge about biogas at educational institutions. Teachers have been participating in knowledge sharing at biogas plants. They were surprised by the size and technical complexity of biogas plants.
