Expert Workshop: Best European Practices to renovate buildings

The EU Renovation Wave seeks to double the annual rate of the energy renovation of
buildings by 2030. This is a complex task for Europe where energy efficiency will play a
major role in meeting its energy security and climate change goals.
During the second week of July 2023, Valladolid will host the delegations of the 27 European
member states for informal meetings of the Ministers of Energy and Climate/Environment
within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union during
the second semester of 2023. These meetings offer the ideal context to discuss the core
issues for the decarbonisation of Europe.

An ambitious revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) is necessary
to meet the goals of the “fit for 55” package. This technical workshop will bring together
experts who will offer their vision and insights on the current state of energy renovation of
buildings, and will propose initiatives and discuss best practices needed -through practical
cases in the member states- to accelerate the progress and implementation of the EPBD
throughout Europe, and to better inform energy and environment delegations.

This event will enable the dialogue between renovation experts from different European
countries and the official delegations visiting Spain taking part in the informal Ministerial
meetings in Valladolid. Join the talk !
