Join REGILIENCE’s sixth Open Training Session on Heat and Health: Building Resilience for a Hotter Future, part of a series of 10 sessions aimed at informing European regions and actors about adaptation support.
REGILIENCE is hosting its sixth Open Training Session (OTS6) on 20 February 2025, from 10:00-12:00 CET, focusing on Heat and Health. As heat waves pose a growing threat to human health, this session will explore strategies to integrate heat resilience into health adaptation and planning.
After an introduction to the synergies between heat and health, including current empirical evidence, we will explore the assessment of emerging risks through a heat-related index. We will then hear about concrete examples of measures addressing both heat risks and health impacts, with a focus on regional and city-level initiatives. Finally, we will conclude with a discussion on key insights, emphasizing the importance of taking action for climate resilience.

REGILIENCE is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. It aims to equip European regions with the tools and knowledge necessary to identify and address climate-related risks. Through collaboration with sister projects like ARSINOE, IMPETUS, and TransformAr, REGILIENCE enhances the capacity of seven focus regions to tackle the unavoidable impacts of climate change. The project offers a range of training opportunities, including tailored support services, peer-to-peer mentorship, and region-specific training sessions.
