The World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED) 2024 is close! Set to unfold in Wels, Austria from 5-8 March, this year’s edition focuses on the pursuit of a rapid, intelligent, and robust energy transition.

The World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED) 2024, organised by Upper Austria Regional Energy Agency, is scheduled from 5 to 8 March in Wels, Austria, and will serve as a crucial platform to address the urgency of the energy transition. With a focus on fast, smart, and resilient solutions, the event aims to tackle global challenges, including price fluctuations, geopolitical instabilities, and the climate crisis.

Program Highlights

WSED’24 will explore ways to meet the high policy ambitions of upcoming EU legislation and strengthen clean energy markets. Organized into six dedicated conferences, each will be addressing key aspects of the energy transition and climate neutrality:

  1. Energy Efficiency Policy Conference: Delving into strategies to enhance energy efficiency across sectors.
  2. European Pellet Conference: Focusing on advancements in pellet-based renewable energy solutions.
  3. Young Energy Researchers Conference: Providing a platform for emerging researchers to share insights.
  4. Industrial Energy Efficiency Conference: Discussing innovations and best practices in industrial energy efficiency.
  5. Workshop “Cities and Regions”: Exploring local and regional energy transition projects and EU policies.
  6. Smart E-Mobility Conference: Addressing advancements in sustainable and intelligent mobility solutions.

FEDARENE’s Workshop

As part of the event, FEDARENE will co-organize a workshop on 6 March, focusing on EU policies and showcasing clean energy transition projects at the local and regional levels. This workshop is tailored for regional and local energy agencies, city and regional representatives, and will feature best practice examples, financing solutions, and discussions on diverse strategies driving climate neutrality in cities and regions.

Who Should Attend

The event is expected to draw over 650 experts from more than 60 countries, representing a diverse range of stakeholders. Attendees will include business actors engaged in the energy transition, technology and equipment companies, energy providers, service providers, planners, developers, and representatives from the sustainable energy research community. Additionally, public bodies such as EU institutions, national, regional, and local governments, as well as energy agencies, will be in attendance.

Ranging from 390 Euro for access to all conferences, to focused explorations priced at 60-120 Euro, these fees provide inclusive entry to conferences such as European Pellet, Energy Efficiency Policy, Smart E-Mobility, and more. Students benefit from discounted rates, starting at 30 Euro, ensuring accessibility to valuable insights. All fees, encompassing entrance to the trade show and comprehensive documentation, come with a 10% VAT, offering a cost-effective opportunity to delve into the forefront of sustainable energy advancements.
