Energy efficiency and the deployment of renewables are of essence to the Emirate: its own natural resources are limited, and both natural gas and oil have to be imported. As a result, and as part of its “Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030”, the Emirate is eager to share best practice with European regions, and to benefit from their experience (especially concerning Demand Side Management).
Michael Geissler on behalf of FEDARENE, and Ahmad Al Muhairbi on behalf of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding on January 18th, in the margins of the 2016 World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, the region’s most influential event dedicated to advancing energy efficiency and clean technologies. The document defines the scope of the partnership, as well as the activities that will be undertaken.
This new partnership is an opportunity for all FEDARENE members to share their best practices in the field of energy efficiency and renewables, and to gain insight into the innovative solutions developed and applied in Dubai. We are looking forward to fruitfully work with our new partner!
