The 10th edition of the Green Solutions Awards for 2024-2025 has been launched. This competition, organised by the Construction21 network, provides a platform for sustainable buildings, districts, and infrastructures worldwide to showcase their exemplary solutions for carbon neutrality, resilience, mitigation, and adaptation. The competition has expanded its international reach in this edition.
In the previous edition, Plymouth’s 5th-generation heating and cooling grid, received the Grand Prize for its significant contribution to decarbonising the built environment.
The next Grand Prize winner will be announced in November 2025. The competition is currently open for entries, and the deadline for project submissions is 10 February. Projects can be submitted on the Construction21 website, whether they involve a building, district, or infrastructure.
Launch at Batimat, Paris…
The 2024-2025 edition was launched at Batimat, Paris, during the Mondial du Bâtiment trade show. Key speakers discussed the significance of the Chaillot Declaration and France’s vision for decarbonising the built environment.
This year, a new distinction, “Meeting the Criteria of the Chaillot Declaration,” will recognise projects aligning with these objectives. Notably, the “9 Percier” project by ARP Astrance was awarded the Circular Economy Prize in the previous edition for its innovative reuse of building elements, showcasing environmental responsibility and aesthetic appeal. The competition’s sponsors, including BNP Paribas Real Estate, EDF, and Soprema, were acknowledged for their essential contributions.
… and the grand finale in Brazil, COP30
The international grand finale is scheduled to take place at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, where the top projects will be honored at a global ceremony. Additionally, Construction21 plans to host its Global Sustainable Buildings and Cities Symposium during the event.
Participants in the Green Solutions Awards have the opportunity to compete for 13 national and 11 international prizes across various categories, including Buildings, Districts, and Infrastructure. The Smart Building Prize returns this year, recognising buildings with intelligent systems that enhance occupant well-being, optimise energy management, and provide additional services.
The awards offer significant visibility to participants through a comprehensive communications plan, including articles, social media, and press releases. The first candidates of this edition will be revealed on November 21, so don’t miss the chance to have your work recognised and inspire the future of sustainable construction!
