The leaves may be falling but this Bulletin will certainly pick you up – our first Autumn edition of the year brings you good news: we have a new intern, exciting changes among our members, and several inspiring stories to boot! As ever, we also bring the latest calls, events, and news from the European energy sphere.
Beginning of 2022, FEDARENE launched a survey to assess the awareness and interest of FEDARENE members regarding the use of green hydrogen. Discover the results.
European Sustainable Energy Week has been the hot topic in Brussels, and also for us at FEDARENE. On Tuesday, we convened a board meeting, held the Opengela Replication Workshop, and – last but not least – found out who won the Roger Léron Award 2022. But, in the words of our winner, the pursuit of the energy transition must go on. This is the Bulletin.
The European Commission issued a communication on the 14th of September 2022, calling for a measure that temporarily targets and reduces the revenues of electricity producers; a measure that temporarily establishes a solidarity contribution on surplus profits in the fossil fuel sector; a set of 2 electricity demand reduction targets. The Council of the European Union agreed to the proposed regulation.
