Integrating air quality into territorial climate and energy plans

Air quality, even if it improves, poses significant health risks to all residents of Ile-de-France in their daily lives.

Air quality, even if it is improving, poses significant health risks to all residents of Ile-de-France in their daily lives. The French government, and even local authorities, risk heavy financial penalties from the European Union if no measures to reduce pollutant emissions are put in place.

Actions on air quality bring immediate health benefits with co-benefits on the climate. Faced with these different challenges and in view of recent regulatory changes that reinforce their responsibilities, local authorities have a decisive role to play in climate, air and energy issues. In order to provide Ile-de-France local authorities with the tools they need to meet these challenges, ARENE and Airparif have decided to work in partnership.

This technical booklet, specific to the integration of air quality in territorial climate, air and energy plans, is intended to be pragmatic and as close as possible to the questions raised by the territories.
