2021 European Covenant of Mayors Ceremony – Networking session: Long-term ambitions for 2050, why and how

The 2021 European Covenant of Mayors Ceremony will take place on 7 October 2021 online… and everywhere in Europe!

COMMIT, ENGAGE, ACT and NETWORK on the road to Glasgow.

In April 2021, the European Covenant of Mayors initiative has entered a new phase, officially launching its renewed ambition of a fairer and climate-neutral Europe.

To celebrate this new phase, the achievements of the Community, and debate how to commit, engage, act and network towards a fairer, climate-neutral Europe, we are organising the first online European Covenant of Mayors Ceremony!

We were inviting all cities, regions, and all members of the Covenant of Mayors Community in Europe to get together in our online ceremony to be held on 7 October 2021, from 09:30 to 13:00.

Networking session: Long-term ambitions for 2050, why and how

The new commitments for 2050 of the Covenant of Mayors Europe encourage all members of the Covenant of Mayors Community to adopt a long-term vision for their territories. But why and how aim for climate neutrality?

In this session, following the presentation of these new ambitions and how signatories can renew their commitments, several members of the community will share their experiences with long-term vision and planning for their transition toward climate neutrality. Either via project results or feedback from the ground, the discussion will cover the speakers’ why and how.
