Possibilities to improve energy efficiency through a joint implementation plan in schools, with the direct involvement of students, the educational community in general, school boards and local authorities, co-funded by the European Commission through the Intelligent Energy Europe Program (2013-2016).
The energy team of the Primary School of Athienou decided that they should do something to raise energy awareness among the local community. They decided to prepare a three-page brochure with simple energy saving tips and pieces of advice.
The students, through the brainstorming technique and by reviewing leaflets about energy saving given by the Cyprus Energy Agency, discussed simple habits that we can adopt in our everyday life in order to save energy. With the help of their teacher, they selected the most important tips and designed the brochure.
The students printed about 70 copies of the brochure and distributed them to all community members, from parents and citizens to bookshops, organizations and the municipality.
